So, what a week! Been super busy with work, which of course just means more money... which i more than likely will spend on a new fall wardrobe! Which definetly includes some new shoes. Recently I've discovered Marshalls Shoe Megashop, which is a huge store with excellent prices and product. And the best part, they're giving everyone the opportunity to win a shopping spree. Pretty cool, right?

So, I must say that American Apparel is a fantastic idea. All American made clothing is what we certainly would like to think would work out, but honestly, ew. American designers are not represented very well in this store! Although I visited the on in Omaha, Nebraska and I'm not positive that all the stores have similar merchandise, I was utterly disappointed. Their clothes look, for a lack of a better word, cheap, but are pricy! Quote from founder, Dov Charney, "At American Apparel," Charney explains animatedly, "people can mix our basics into their wardrobe as they like..." I have to agree that SOME, a limited amount, of their items could certainly be intermixed with other fashions. I actually do enjoy some of their leggings, mostly because they're fun and I think will certainly find themselves on women. But that's my personal opinion, what's yours?

And, as usual, I have been hitting some hot spots around town on my week off. But one place I desperately want to go is a new little place called ELLA . It's an ungerground circus-style music parlor, complete with a big top domed ceiling, red-curtain wallpaper and a tiny little stage just inches off the ground. This is the kind of place my friends would HATE to love, but I secretly think they'd thoroughly enjoy something different. It just reeks sex, doesn't it? Haha! Located on 9 Ave A (between Houston and 2nd St)

Hey everyone!

So, after a long hiatus I think it's time that I start writing again!

I have been all over the country in the past few months actually. Seattle, Austin, Omaha, Miami! But I'm finally back in New York and taking a week off of work.

There's a lot of exciting things going on here this week, so after I read all of these emails from my readers I'll post all about it!

I have not been active! I want to be, but this always slips my mind. Thanks to everyone who read(s) and left comments and emailed me about great opportunities.

I'm going to be posting more, I think.

:D

Forge, 134 Reade St (between Hudson and Greenwich)
I'm really going to make it a point to write more often. Things have been insane. This summer is certainly planning on being a productive one, which means more cash for me! I actually have the weel off, so a couple of my work acquaintances and myself are heading up to Forge. I like trying new places and from all the reviews, its pretty damn good. (however, it may be more of a bring-your-mistress-here kind of joint). I'll have to keep that in mind.

I think I'm going to cuddle up to a good book afterwards and sip on this delicious wine from a secret admirer of mine. It's very strange to leave a bottle of wine wrapped in a ribbon with your doorman, but I suppose it works. PS. Does anyone know where the hell to buy this stuff? Wrotham Pinot Sparkling Wine. It's making me want an alcohol problem.

And speaking of relationships (or not), I have come very fond of a Greek man that works at the grocery store. HA, yes I know how this sounds. However, I am strangely drawn to him. He also commented on how beautiful I looked in white, something every woman looks to hear. I would like to know how to go about this one, and if it's just my lust kicking in. I like to give every man a fair chance, even if they do work at a grocery store...

Off to work out quick with my trainer. It's so much more fun when the person stretching you has a Columbian accent.

Ah, Seattle.

Alright, so I'm back in NY! I never have been away for so long, but it was really exciting and fun. It's so different there. Everyone is so... how do I put this... edgy?! I dont know the word for it. Very much into music and style. It's so great! For the first week here, woke up at 5:30 AM (fuck, it sucked) and got back into my hotel room at about 10 PM. No room for shopping, exploring, or MEN (which I might say was slim pickings, but lots of cute guys at the meetings :D). After that though all I could think about was shopping. The lines there are like 5 minute waits and I rarely ever have to wait for that short of time, so yeah I went nuts.

MORE COMING AFTER I UNPACK MY STUFF!

SORRY

Been out of town on a business trip! I promise that I will be back to write often very soon when I'm back in NYC. By the way, Seattle is amazing!

Yeah, this is real and amazing. Harpers Bazaar Indonesia June 2008
Ah! Shit has been so hectic around here... Had to go to court today super early in the morning. It was horrible. Not enough judges and so many people. But we did well.

Okay. So I was talking to my mom on the phone the other night, and she told me something GREAT. Appearantly, this young woman on one of those night line shows or whatever was going to get breast implants, but her doctor said that she couldn't get them until she gets into better shape and eats healthy. This lady had about the same bra size as me (small, but not something to really complain about either) and I've never thought about breast implants! But here's the kicker: this lady DIDN'T have to get breast implants because after she started working out and eating well, her chest grew! This gives me hope, and should give all you women (or men who have ladies with small tatas) to never give up. I know exactly how you feel when you see a woman with large bozangas, and they're out everywhere... we SEE them lady! Ya know? How rude.
But yeah, this is great news and I've been meaning to start working out hardcore and eating well. Meeting with personal trainer named LUCA from Powerhouse Gym tonight. Very excited. (Maybe he'll be hot and play out my personal trainer fantasy?)

anywho. I got my hair colored yesterday at Stephen Knoll. DARK as fuck but I love it! Got my eyebrows dyed like a shade darker haha cause they were so light compared to my hair. And that's saying something! Also, went tanning because I was a little too light for my taste. That feeling of having a tan is so awesome.

I'm going to post what my personal trainer says. Off to Powerhouse!

Kahri

How cute are these? Boombox shorts by Kahri

So Hot!

So, my high school friend Donna and I had a wonderful early evening at Sheridan Square. We ordered the creamy polenta and we both ordered the trout. I must say, it wasn't the best food I've had, but it was certainly good. They're almost a brand new restaurant so I may be visiting them in the future. And we had a good time and talked about everything going on, and so thats what mattered. Oh, and I caught a lovely buzz off their delicious rhubarb daiquiris! Yeah, I was iffy about this one, but it was great.

Also, my friend and I were talking about the Sex and the City movie (CHEESY, but it had to be done) and were talking about our favorite parts and what not... Hers being the part where Miranda's waxing appointments are non-exsistant? Haha! Well, I've decided to go back to this place I went to last time I got a wax called Shobha. Went to the Soho one last month so now I find out there's one so much c loser at 595 Madison Ave off 57th ave I believe. MIDTOWN! Commuting is such a hastle, and waxing is great, so this works out for me!

And now I must show my DREAM future home. Its in Soho, so.. no.
priiiccyyy

It's seriously sooo gorgeous and the building is awesome. Stupid coworkers who get to show this one. It could be yours from Metropolitan Property Group for 10,000 a month people!

Alright, well I'm going to catch up on some work. :D

Here's something to chew on..

I'm going vegetarian.

Central Park.

I come here way too much. It's about 2 P.M. and I'm having a late lunch in the park... Left over Chinese food. Who would have guessed, right?! I'll be done with all appointments by 4:30, which is exactly what I planned on happening. An old friend of mine from HIGH SCHOOL (yeah, that was sooo long ago it seems!) is coming into town to visit her family in Younkers. So, we're going to have a fun filled night...once I get it all figured out. I haven't exactly organized this yet :D

OK. So.. I was reading an In Style magazine, and came to the "newest trends" part. It seems that I have already beat the trends (for once?). Bright colored scarfs and hats are in! And the best part, they even mentioned one of my favorite scarf&hat online store, ECHODESIGN. They're stuff isn't really too expensive either.

SO, the election is over! I actually did vote for Obama, however I regretted it about a week later. Though if I could vote over again, I would vote for Clinton, I love Obama! He's amazing and if he makes it to be president, I'll be happy about that too.

Tell me if this is strange:
I'm very liberal, but I love John McCain. hm?

Do you ever find yourself thinking about your past relationship? Specifically that one that tore you apart and afterwards, you swore never again. Not even another relationship ever again. Well, I find myself thinking about this man more and more. Probably because of the season.. we met and started falling in love around this time. But my question to all women who know what I'm talking about... We think about all the good times and completely block off everything negative. Then, we fantasize about our favorite moments with this one person (Mine happen to be in the bedroom, thanks). Next, before we know it, we see ourselves looking at his phone number or imagining getting in a cab or car to see this person.
Well let me just tell you one thing. Don't do it. It took a lot of convincing to myself, but I have come to the realization that we're not with these people for a reason! A very good reason, at that!

And as if my love life had to get any more hectic... Little man (what I enjoy calling him) has gone crazy. Litterally people, CRAZY. Constant calls, texts, and 12 voice mails in 24 hours. Hello?! I'm at WORK. Or SLEEPING. So i texted him this fantastic line, and really haven't heard from him since..
"i have what you want. the feelings not mutual. goodbye"

PS. I cant wait for the show Swingtown. :D

They're No Manolo's...

But I purchased some shoes on Amazon.com by Christian Louboutin the other day and just got them. They're absolutely gorgeous and I love them. I think every woman needs a good black heel, and my old ones were stolen. I'm enjoying them... sorry about the photo, really cant see anything correctly (due to the fact that i need new light bulbs in my bathroom).

Its about 12:40 A.M. and my somewhat hush-hush boy (Joseph) wants to meet for drinks. A bit late, but for someone I rarely get to see, it's alright. Believe we are going somewhere in Brooklyn (Boo, it seems so far away) and I hate leaving Manhattan.

SO. If you live in the New York area tell me if you're going to be attending Twirl's one year anniversary celebration. OPEN BAR! Haha, and I'm sure they will serve some fantastic food.

Night with the girls..

So we have decided on dinner and drinks tonight at Omen (113 Thompson St in Soho). Authentic Japanese cuisine, critically acclaimed, and sounds amazing. Apparently, they serve Sake, something I've been wanting to try for a long time now. Actually I'm surprised I haven't had it yet. Should be exciting.

Perhaps I should tell you a little about my best friends. Monika Bradshaw: married to a financial advisor working for Wall Street. She's always dated men with money, dark hair, and the tendency to look like 18 year olds. She's usually home, rarely goes out with us, but if anyone is need, she hops in the first cab to order chinese for you and brings the champagne. She also has an obsessive knack with her tan and looks. It works, she gets constant stares and whistles.

Noelle Benson: I almost spend every day with this woman. Single and beautiful, and a thing for hot, black men. She's a CNA, but couldn't stand washing old men's parts. So, she works at a fabulous bar (I won't exploit it) and makes a decent amount of money. Very stubborn and into herself, but the best friend you could ask for. Currently on the rebound, and she's certainly bounding... with a lot of men.

Nicole Keller: The hippie. Although shes a bit old to smoke joints, we occasionally catch her doing it. Very fashionable, tall, and has the blonde, California locks. She's a very talented interior designer, and occasionally work on properties together. She's the sweetest thing you will ever meet, and has the cutest lisp of all time. Currently semi-single. She's dating a younger guy, who, turns out, has major anger problems. Your typical bad boy with the girl next door.

First Post

Yes, most women of Manhattan absolutely adored the HBO series Sex and the City. It was really fantastic and I loved the movie. However, I'm an even bigger fan of SJP. Don't we all wish we had the friggin confidence to wear what she wears? I just couldn't believe that Nina Ricci (a fantastic designer whom I have admired for a while now) would be so sleezy to hand a one of a kind dress to three different women. Was it an honest mistake (undoubtedly not) or something she deliberately intended to do? All I have to say is how embarrassing for Sarah and the designer.

This story reminds me of a wedding I attended last summer in the Hamptons. One of my martini sipping gal pals (whom I must add is extremely fashionable and rarely makes bad judgement) chose some of the most ugliest bride maid dresses ever. However, they were one of a kind and she of course absolutely had to have them, and bragged tremendously . The day of the wedding, as I'm walking down the aisle, I notice a woman with the SAME exact dress on. My eyes widened and I knew there was to be hell from the Mrs. I asked her after the wedding where she got it and said the JCPenny catalog! Ha! The bride was so embarassed, but we all shared a laugh 2 years later. Can you say mishap!

Moving on to the shoes. Manolo's Shoe Blog shoeblogs.com has shown me these babies. For a mere $665 these could be yours, thanks to Neiman Marcus.

Today was nice, except for the awkward moment I shared with a man I've been dating for about two weeks now. He suggested that in late June we go to see Shakespeare at Central Park. Don't get me wrong, I could enjoy this... but I don't see this relationship going that far. In fact, I planned on breaking the news to him before his little invite.

So, the question now... How do I break it to this sweet little man that I'm just not that interested? And when I say little, I mean little.

More to come! Thanks for reading With Love, MP
